NFPA 70E Training Built for Flint Facilities

Flint remains a General Motors town: Flint Assembly builds heavy-duty Silverado and Sierra pickups, Flint Engine Operations machines and assembles engines, and Flint Metal Center stamps body panels — together employing thousands of skilled-trades workers, with a supplier network of stampers, molders, and logistics operations spread across Genesee County. Beyond automotive, the region's industrial base includes Diplomat-legacy pharmacy distribution, food processing, and the institutional infrastructure of Hurley Medical Center, McLaren, and the University of Michigan-Flint, all served by Consumers Energy and DTE infrastructure.

High-volume automotive plants concentrate energized-work exposure: press power and controls, weld distribution, robot cells, conveyor MCCs, and plant switchgear maintained on tight production windows. GM's own electrical safe work practices are built on NFPA 70E — and supplier plants and contractors working alongside are expected to match that standard with documented qualified electrical worker training.

Our 8-hour NFPA 70E Qualified Electrical Worker class in Flint serves automotive skilled trades, supplier plant electricians, facilities maintenance teams, and contractors from across mid-Michigan — Flint, Burton, Grand Blanc, Saginaw, Bay City, and Lapeer — covering arc flash risk assessment, shock protection boundaries, PPE selection, energized electrical work permits, and lockout/tagout under the current NFPA 70E edition.
